What is water-reducing agent?
Water-reducing agent is a concrete admixture that can reduce the mixing water consumption. Main classification of water-reducing agent

Action mechanism of water reducer
Dispersion effect: after mixing cement with water, due to the hydration effect of cement particles, the surface of cement particles forms a double-layer structure, making it form a solvated water film, and the surface of cement particles has an anisotropic charge, which causes the association between cement particles, making the cement slurry form a flocculation structure, so that 10%~30% of the mixing water is wrapped in the cement particles, and cannot participate in free flow and lubrication. Thus, the fluidity of the concrete mixture is affected. When water reducer is added, the molecules of water reducer can be adsorbed on the surface of cement particles directionally so that the surface of cement particles has the same charge (usually negative charge), forming electrostatic repulsion, promoting the dispersion of cement particles, the disintegration of flocculation structure, releasing the wrapped water, and participating in the flow, thus effectively increasing the fluidity of concrete mixture.
