What is cuprous oxide?
Cuprous oxide, whose chemical formula is Cu2O, is an oxide of univalent copper, which is a bright red powder solid and almost insoluble in water. It disproportionates into divalent copper and copper in acidic solution, and gradually oxidizes into black copper oxide in wet air. Cuprous oxide is mainly used for the manufacture of antifouling paint on the bottom of ships, pesticides, and various copper salts, analytical reagents, red glass, and also for the preparation of copper plating and copper alloy plating solutions
Preparation of cuprous oxide
1. Dry method: copper powder is mixed with copper oxide after impurity removal and then sent into the calciner to be heated to 800~900 to be calcined into cuprous oxide. After taking it out, mechanical impurities are removed with magnets and then crushed to 325 meshes to produce cuprous oxide finished products. If copper sulfate is used as raw material, the copper in copper sulfate is first reduced with iron, and the subsequent reaction steps are the same as using copper powder as a raw material method
2. Glucose reduction method: copper sulfate solution is mixed with glucose, and sodium hydroxide solution is added to react to produce the cuprous oxide, which is then filtered, rinsed, dried, and crushed to produce cuprous oxide products
3. Electrolytic method: In the electrolytic tank lined with PVC in the iron shell, a cast copper plate is used as an anode, a red copper plate as the cathode, potassium chromate as an additive, and salt solution as an electrolyte, in which sodium chloride is 290~310g/L, potassium chromate is 0.3~0 Under the conditions of 5g/L, temperature 70~90 , pH 8~12, current density 1500A/m2, electrolysis is carried out to produce the cuprous oxide, which is prepared by precipitation separation, rinsing, filtration and drying.

First aid measures for cuprous oxide
Skin contact:
Wash thoroughly with soapy water and clean water.
Go to a doctor.
Pay attention to the patient's warmth and keep quiet.
Inhalation, ingestion, or skin contact with this substance may cause delayed reactions. Ensure that medical personnel understand the personal protection knowledge related to this substance and pay attention to their protection
Eye contact: open the eyelids and wash them with flowing water for 15 minutes. See a doctor
Inhalation: leave the site to a place with fresh air. Give oxygen when breathing is difficult. When breathing is stopped, carry out artificial respiration immediately. See a doctor. If the patient ingests or inhales this substance, do not use mouth-to-mouth for artificial respiration. Use a one-way valve small respirator or another appropriate medical respirator.
Ingestion: Take milk, soy, or egg white orally and seek medical advice.

Price of cuprous oxide
Cuprous oxide particle size and purity will affect the product's price, and the purchase volume can also affect the cost of cuprous oxide. A large amount of large amount will be lower. The price of cuprous oxide can be found on our company's official website..
