What is graphite powder used for?
It can be used as demoulding lubricant in the production of chemical fertilizer industrial catalyst.
Graphite powder has the characteristics of high-temperature resistant and high lubricity, so it can be used as high temperature resistant lubricant base material and corrosion resistant lubricant base material.
It can be used as powder metallurgy release agent, metal alloy raw material and lubricant in cable production.
It is used to make carbon film resistor, conductive dry mode and preparing conductive coating.
To make fillers or performance improvers for rubber, plastics and all kinds of composite materials to improve the wear resistance, pressure resistance or conductivity of materials.
Natural graphite has been used as a marking material for ordinary pencils, zinc-carbon batteries, motor brushes and various professional applications.
A new application of nuclear-grade graphite is the ultra-high temperature reactor (UHTR) and the next generation nuclear power plant (NGNP).

What is graphite powder?
Graphite powder is only a kind of graphite in the form of powder, which retains all the inherent primary and secondary properties of graphite.
Graphite is an allotrope of carbon. It is grayish black and opaque solid. It is greasy and can pollute the paper.
Its hardness is 1-2, and the hardness increases to 3-5 with the increase of impurities in the vertical direction. The specific gravity is 1.9-2.3. The range of specific surface area is concentrated in 1-20m2/g. Under the condition of oxygen isolation, its melting point is above 3000, so it is one of the most temperature-resistant minerals. It can conduct electricity and heat.
Chemical stability, corrosion resistance, not easy to react with acid, alkali and other agents. Graphite burns in oxygen to form carbon dioxide, which can be oxidized by strong oxidants such as concentrated nitric acid and potassium permanganate.
There is no pure graphite in nature, which often contains impurities such as SiO2, Al2O3, FeO, CaO, P2O5, CuO and so on. These impurities often appear in the form of quartz, pyrite, carbonate and other minerals. In addition, there are water, asphalt, CO2, H2, CH4, N2 and other gas parts. Therefore, for the analysis of graphite, in addition to the determination of fixed carbon content, the content of volatile matter and ash must also be determined at the same time.

Is graphite dust toxic?
Excessive exposure to graphite can cause serious harm to the respiratory system. Documented health effects include pulmonary fibrosis and pneumoconiosis, an occupational lung disease. The cardiovascular system will also be affected, and workers' lung function may decline.

What is a substitute for graphite powder?
Graphite powder is an excellent dry lubricant, but it has been shown to be corrosive to aluminum when moisture may be present. At this time, graphite can be replaced by molybdenum disulfide MoS2 powder.
