What fields are ferronickel used in?

What is Nickel iron alloy?
Nickel iron alloy is an alloy. The main components are nickel and iron, and they also contain impurity elements such as Cr, Si, S, P and C. Chromium-nickel series stainless steel is the main stainless steel variety that consumes nickel. Because of its excellent comprehensive properties, it is widely used, accounting for 60% ~ 75% of the total stainless steel output. The growth of stainless steel production will boost the consumption of nickel metal. With the gradual fading of the financial crisis, the price of nickel returned to more than $20,000, and the advantages of ferronickel in reducing the smelting cost of stainless steel were gradually reflected, and ferronickel occupied an important position in the raw materials of stainless steel.
Composition structure of Nickel iron alloy
Nickel is a yellowish silvery white metal and a magnetic transition metal. The application of nickel lies in the corrosion resistance of nickel. Adding nickel to the alloy can enhance the corrosion resistance of the alloy. The field of stainless steel and alloy production is the most widely used field of nickel.
Nickel-iron is mainly composed of nickel and iron and also contains impurity elements such as Cr, Si, S, P and C. Nickel can be completely dissolved in γ -iron and its solubility in α -iron is 10%. According to the international standard (ISO), ferronickel is divided into feni20 (Ni 15% ~ 25%), feni30 (Ni 25% ~ 35%), feni40 (Ni 35% ~ 45%) and feni50 (Ni 45% ~ 60%) according to the nickel content. It is further divided into high carbon (C1.0% ~ 2.5%), medium carbon (C0.030% ~ 1.0%) and low carbon (C < 0.03%). Low phosphorus (P <0.02%) and high phosphorus (P <0.030%) ferronickel.
Manufacturing method of Nickel iron alloy powder
Modern methods for producing nickel mainly include the pyrometallurgical method and the wet method. According to the difference between the two main types of nickel-containing minerals in the world (nickel-containing sulfide minerals and oxide minerals), the smelting treatment methods are different. Nickel-bearing sulfide ore is mainly treated by pyrometallurgy. Copper, nickel and sulfur are smelted by concentrate roasting reverberatory furnace (electric furnace or blast furnace), and nickel concentrate is electrolyzed to obtain metallic nickel. The oxide ore is mainly nickel-bearing laterite with low grade, which is suitable for wet treatment. The main methods are the ammonia leaching method and the sulfuric acid method. The pyrometallurgical treatment of oxide ore is the ferronickel process.
