What is cuprous oxide?
Cuprous oxide is a red or dark red cubic crystalline powder. Relative density of 6.O. Melting point of 1,235℃. Loss of oxygen at 1,800℃. Insoluble in water and alcohol, hydrochloric acid, ammonium chloride, and ammonia water, slightly soluble in nitric acid. Dissolve in hydrochloric acid to produce a white cuprous chloride crystalline powder. When dilute, sulfuric acid and diluted nitric acid produce copper salt. It will quickly turn blue in the air. It can be dissolved in concentrated alkali, ferric chloride, and other solutions and oxidized to black copper oxide in wet air.
Main uses of cuprous oxide
Copper oxide can be used to make boat bottom antifouling paint (killing low Marine animals), used as a fungicide, as ceramic and enamel stain, and as red glass stain; also used in the manufacture of various copper salts, analytical reagents, and materials for rectification electroplating, crop fungicide and rectifier in the electrical industry; Copper oxide is also often used for the catalyst for the synthesis of organic matter.
Method of copper oxide:
Dry method: copper powder is mixed with copper oxide after removing impurities, sent into cancer, and heated to 800~900℃ calcined to copper oxide. After removal, the mechanical impurities were crushed to 325 mesh to produce the finished copper oxide. If copper sulfate is used as raw material, reduce the copper sulfate with iron, and the subsequent reaction steps are the same as that of copper powder; mix copper sulfate solution with glucose and add sodium hydroxide solution for reaction to produce copper oxide by filtration, rinsing, drying and crushing.
Safety of Coxide
Copper oxide should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated warehouse and not mixed with the oxidant. The container must be sealed to prevent contact from becoming copper oxide. Do not be stored and mixed with strong acids, alkalis, and edible articles. When loading and unloading, take it gently to prevent packaging damage. The fire can be water, sand, or fire extinguishers. Copper oxide stimulates the skin, and dust stimulates the eyes and causes corneal ulcers. Take the milk and other measures for acute poisoning with a certain concentration of K4 [Fe (CN) 6] solution gastric lavage. You must wear masks, dust glasses, protective work clothes, and shower after work.
Price of cuprous oxide
The different price of cuprous oxide purity is also different. The market price of cuprous oxide is in the process of dynamic change. The price of cuprous oxide can be found on our company's official website. If you need it, you can ask us at any time.
