What is Boron Nitride (BN)?
Boron nitride (BN) is a thermally and chemically resistant refractory compound of boron and nitrogen. It exists in various structures, like hexagonal BN (h-BN), cubic BN (c-BN), and wurtzite BN (w-BN).


General Properties of Boron Nitride (BN)
1. Chemically resistant to attack by inorganic acids and water;
2. Slightly soluble in hot acid, insoluble in cold water;
3. The maximum operating temperature is 900℃ in oxidizing atmosphere and 2800℃ in inactive reducing atmosphere;
4. Most properties of boron nitride are even better than those of carbon materials;
5. For hexagonal boron nitride: very low friction coefficient, high temperature stability, good thermal shock resistance, high strength, high thermal conductivity, low expansion coefficient, high resistivity, corrosion resistance, microwave or infrared penetration.

Applications of Boron Nitride (BN)
1. 
Metal forming release agent and metal wire drawing lubricant.
2. Special electrolytic and resistance materials in high temperature state. 
3. High temperature solid lubricants, extrusion anti-wear additives, additives for the production of ceramic composite materials, refractory materials and anti-oxidation additives, especially for the occasion of anti-molten metal corrosion, heat reinforcement additives, high temperature resistant insulation materials. 
4. Transistor heat sealing desiccant and additives in polymer such as plastic resin. 
5. Boron nitride products pressed into various shapes can be used as high temperature, high pressure, insulation, heat dissipation parts. 
6. Heat shielding materials in aerospace. 
7. In the state of high temperature and high pressure, with the participation of catalyst, it can be converted into cubic boron nitride which is as hard as diamond.
8. Structural materials for atomic reactors. 
9. Aircraft, rocket engine nozzle. 
10. Insulators for high voltage, high frequency electricity and plasma arc. 
11. Packaging materials that protect against neutron radiation. 
12. Super hard material made from boron nitride, can be made into high-speed cutting tools and geological exploration, oil drilling drill. 
13. Separation ring used for continuous casting steel, amorphous iron flow notch, continuous casting aluminum release agent (various optical glass release agent). 
14. Aluminized freshness protection package. 
15. Laser anti-counterfeiting aluminum plating, trademark bronzing materials, cigarette labels, beer labels, packaging boxes, cigarette boxes aluminum plating, etc.
