What is gallium nitride?

GaN crystal belongs to the hexagonal crystal system of super-stable wurtzite lattice type (GaN crystal material has two different structures: hexagonal wurtzite structure and cubic sphalerite structure, of which wurtzite structure is the most common structure of nitride semiconductors, and is also a stable thermodynamic structure, while sphalerite structure is metastable structure, which is not suitable for making power devices), GaN begins to decompose at 1050 ; GaN is not decomposed by cold water or hot water, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and sulfuric acid, or cold 40% HF; It is also stable in cold concentrated alkali.
