Its structure is grown on SiC substrate and adopts a vertical conductive structure (P-type and n-type contacts are made on the top and back of the wafer, respectively). This is the first reported CW blue laser with a vertical device structure. In terms of the detector, GaN ultraviolet detector has been developed with a wavelength of 369 nm, and its response speed is comparable to that of the Si detector. However, this research is still in its infancy. GaN detectors will have important applications in flame detection, early missile warning, etc.
