This product is used as an anti dyeing agent for vat dyes and sulfide dyes; Dye grade protectants, ship rust removers and electroplating nickel removers, are also intermediates of dyes and vanillins.

Production Method of Sodium 3-Nitrobenzenesulfonate
Industrial production methods can be obtained by sulfonation and neutralization of nitrobenzene. Raw material consumption quota: benzene (98%) 400kg/t, sulfuric acid (98%) 550kg/t, nitric acid (98%) 390kg/t, liquid alkali (30%) 500kg/t, fuming sulfuric acid (including SO320%) 410kg/t, lime milk 550kg/t, and pure alkali (95%) 30kg/t.
In the enamel kettle, first add 350 parts of fuming sulfuric acid, control the kettle temperature from 0 to 5 , slowly add nitrobenzene while stirring, and add 132 parts of nitrobenzene within 1 hour to raise the kettle temperature to 100 , and keep it warm for 2 hours. Take a sample to measure the sulfonation endpoint (drop 1-2 drops of material into a 10ml test tube containing clean water, and prove no turbidity to reach the endpoint). After the sulfonation reaction is completed, cool it down and slowly add it to ice water. After about 3 hours, add 2000 parts of table salt, salt out for a few hours, let it stand overnight, filter, and press dry to obtain the intermediate m-nitrobenzenesulfonic acid. Add m-nitrobenzenesulfonic acid to 500 parts of hot water and boil to dissolve. Remove a small amount of sulfone. Add 50 parts of pure alkali for neutralization, then add activated carbon for decolorization, filter while hot, and cool the filtrate to crystallize. Wash the filter cake with a small amount of water and dry it below 50 to obtain the finished product.
