It has excellent light resistance, heat resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and other properties. It has high hiding power, but its color is dark.
Synthesis of chromium oxide
Mix 5.68 kg of chromic anhydride and 2.25 L of water for 10 min, and add 11.94 g of antimony trioxide, γ- 23.88g of Fe2O3 and 2.88kg of chromium trioxide; after stirring for 20min, add the above mixture into the autoclave at 270 and 45 ℃ × React for 15 h under the pressure of 103 kPa to prepare finished chromium dioxide.
 
Use of chromium oxide
Chromium oxide green is mainly used in special steel smelting tapping holes, slide plate openings, and large incinerators. It can be used for coloring ceramics and enamel, rubber coloring, preparation of high-temperature resistant coating, art pigment, and preparation of printing ink for printing paper money and securities. Chromium oxide green is similar to the chlorophyll of plants and can be used for camouflage paint, making it difficult to distinguish in infrared photography. It is also widely used in metallurgy, the production of refractory materials, and grinding powder. It can also be used as a catalyst for organic synthesis; it's a good green pigment.
