What is chromium oxide?
The scientific name of chromium oxide green is chromium trioxide, also known as "chromium oxide." It is a dark green crystalline powder with a metallic luster belonging to the hexagonal or triangular crystal system, and α- Alumina is the same crystal form, with chemical formula Cr2O3, molecular weight 151.99, and relative density of 5.21. It is harder than quartz and steel, has a melting point of 1990 , a boiling point above 3000 , and its chemical properties are extremely stable. It is magnetic and insoluble in water and alcohol. Chromium oxide green, which has been burned at high temperature, is inert to acid and alkali but can be confused with acid flux and converted into soluble chromium (III) salt. It is soluble in a hot alkali metal bromate solution. Chromium oxide green is a common green pigment; Its color can change from bright green to dark green. It has excellent light resistance, heat resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and other properties. It has high hiding power, but its color is dark.
Safety of chromium oxide
Packed in woven bags or iron drums lined with polyethylene plastic bags. The net weight of each bag or barrel is 50kg. It should be stored in a ventilated and dry warehouse. The packaging must be sealed to prevent moisture. It should not be stored and transported together with food and combustible materials. It should be protected from the acid mist, rain, and sun exposure during storage and transportation. It should be handled carefully during loading and unloading to prevent package breakage. In case of fire, water can be used as Sand and various fire extinguishers. Toxicity and protection: the maximum allowable concentration is 1mg/m3. See chromic anhydride for others.

Preparation of chromium oxide
Thermal decomposition chromium hydroxide method: add sodium sulfide solution to the sodium chromate hot solution for reaction to generate chromium hydroxide. After filtration, the obtained chromium hydroxide filter cake is washed, centrifuged, dehydrated, and then calcined at a temperature of about 1400 to generate chromium trioxide. The furnace charge is washed, dried, and crushed to produce chromium oxide finished products. The alkali liquor obtained from separating chromium hydroxide is carbonized by carbon dioxide, Sodium bicarbonate, and sodium thiosulfate can be recovered. This method's chromium trioxide is dark and unsuitable for pigment. It is mainly used for smelting metal chromium and making a polishing paste.

Price of chromium oxide
Chromium oxide particle size and purity will affect the product's price, and the purchase volume can also affect the cost of chromium oxide. A large amount of large amount will be lower. The price of chromium oxide can be found on our company's official website.
