What is silicon Boride?
Silicon Boride has a molecular weight of 92.95. It is a black crystal with a relative density of 2.47. Its hardness is between diamond and ruby. It can conduct electricity and is insoluble in water. When heated in chlorine and water vapor, its surface can be oxidized. It can be directly oxidized in boiling nitric acid. It remains unchanged in molten potassium hydroxide. It decomposes in hot, concentrated sulfuric acid. Terms for preparation: it can directly heat the mixture of silicon and boron. It is obtained by removing excess silicon with hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid and decomposing silicon tribromide (B3Si) with molten potassium hydroxide.
Primary applications of silicon Boride
First, it can be used as various standard abrasives and eye film cemented carbide; second, it can also be used as engineering ceramic materials, sandblasting nozzles, blades for manufacturing gas engines, other special-shaped sintered parts, and seals. In addition, it can also be used as an antioxidant for refractory materials.
Packaging and storage of silicon Boride
Silicon Boride is packed with inert gas-filled plastic, sealed, and stored in a dry and relaxed environment. It should be kept from the air to prevent moisture and oxidation accumulation, affecting the dispersion performance and use effect. The number of packages can be provided according to customer requirements, and they can be packaged separately.
Emergency treatment and operation method for silicon Boride leakage
Use personal protective equipment in terms of personnel prevention, protective equipment, and emergency handling procedures. Prevent the generation of dust. Prevent inhalation of steam, mist, or gas. Ensure adequate ventilation. Evacuate personnel to a safe area. Avoid inhalation of dust. Regarding methods and materials to restrain and remove the spillage: collect and dispose of the spillage without generating dust, sweep and shovel it, and store it in a properly closed container for disposal. Precautions for safe operation: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Prevent the generation of dust and aerosols. Provide appropriate exhaust equipment and general fire protection measures in places where dust is generated.
Silicon Boride contact control and personal protection
Personal protective equipment: safety glasses with protective side shields meet the requirements of EN166. Please use equipment tested and approved by official standards such as NIOSH (USA) or EN166 (EU) to protect your eyes. Gloves must be checked before use. Please use appropriate methods to remove gloves (do not touch the external surface of gloves); avoid any skin contact with this product. After use, please handle the contaminated gloves carefully according to relevant laws and regulations and effective laboratory rules and procedures. Please clean and blow dry your hands. The selected protective gloves must comply with the EU 89/686/EEC regulations and the EN376 standard
Price of silicon Boride
Silicon Boride particle size and purity will affect the product's price, and the purchase volume can also affect the cost of silicon Boride. A large amount of large amount will be lower. The price of silicon Boride can be found on our company's official website.
