What is calcium hydride?

Preparation of calcium hydride
Put the refined calcium with a purity of about 99.5% into the iron plate and put it in the center of the quartz reaction tube. The outlet pipe is connected to the fume hood through the mineral oil bubbler. An electric furnace heats the reaction tube. The purified hydrogen is initially filled with a large amount of hydrogen to replace the reaction system's air, then heated by an electric furnace. The reaction starts at about 200 and is heated to 250~300 . The reaction is carried out by introducing hydrogen at a flow rate of 0.6 mL/min, which can be completed after about 2 hours. The calcium hydride produced is a porous gray-white crystalline powder, and the purity of calcium hydride is about 99%.
