What is redispersible latex powder RDP powder?
The redispersible latex powder is a water-soluble white or quasi-white flowable powder, a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate, and polyvinyl alcohol as a protective colloid.
Objectively, the materials used in some products have gel ability, such as cement, gypsum, lime, and clay, including some other materials containing silicon, calcium, magnesium, aluminium, etc., so that the viscosity of the redispersible latex powder is not easy to show. Identify redispersible latex powder that can only use a separate water solution and test its solubility, viscosity, bond strength and stability.
Some redispersible latex powder contains ultra-fine mineral powder, which is more than 50% high, to compete at a low price.
As long as the high-quality dry powder redispersible latex powder can be completely dissolved in water, transparent or translucent, and its aqueous solution has obvious bonding strength, carton board, paper, plywood, veneer and cement board can be used to judge whether the bonding performance of redispersible latex powder is good or not.

How to identify what is redispersible latex powder?
Take 30g redispersible latex powder sample, 270g clean normal temperature water (redispersible latex powder: water = 1:9), slowly add 30g redispersible latex powder to 270g water, use a small experimental mixer, adjust the redispersible latex powder into glue (all the redispersible latex powder is dissolved in water), and then use for detection after static defoaming.

Observation method after static defoaming:
1. Whether the redispersible latex powder can be completely dissolved in water.
2. Put the redispersible latex powder aqueous solution into clean empty mineral water, tighten the bottle cap, and put it on the windowsill.
3. Whether there is stratification, separation, precipitation, mildew and rotten smell after long-term storage (90 days, 180 days, 360 days).
Appearance discrimination method:
1. Redispersible latex powder aqueous solution is colourless or light yellow transparent or translucent flowing colloid, which is HYM-21 plant redispersible latex powder (directly dispersed).
2. The aqueous solution of redispersible latex powder is a milky white suspended opaque liquid, a chemical emulsion redispersible latex powder (re-dispersed).
3. The aqueous solution of redispersible latex powder is pasted translucent but opaque, and it is a compound redispersible latex powder (not easy to disperse).
4. the aqueous solution of redispersible latex powder is a turbid white opaque liquid that precipitates quickly, a mineral redispersible latex powder (non-dispersible).

Test stick method:
1. Glue test with carton board or thin wood board.
Take two small carton boards or thin boards of the same size, apply glue to the interface of the sample, glue evenly, stick the two small boards coated with glue face to face, put them flat, and apply pressure with 500g-1000g heavy objects for 30 minutes, take out and test.
2. If the bond is firm and the interface is 100% damaged, it is a good redispersible latex powder product.
3. If the interface can only be partially destroyed, the bond strength of redispersible latex powder is not good, and the quality is not up to standard.
4. If the interface is intact and has not been destroyed, it is shoddy.
