What is titanium carbide?
Titanium carbide is light gray, cubic crystal system, insoluble in water. It has little chemical reaction with hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid but can be dissolved in aqua regia, nitric acid, and hydrofluoric acid. It is also soluble in alkaline oxide solution. . It is used as a cermet and has high hardness; It has corrosion resistance characteristics and good thermal stability. It can also be used to manufacture cutting tools. It is used as a deoxidizer in the steelmaking industry. Its bond type is composed of ionic, covalent, and metal bonds mixed in the same crystal structure, so titanium carbide has many unique properties. The crystal structure determines that titanium carbide has high hardness, melting point, wear resistance, and conductivity. Titanium carbide ceramics are titanium.
Preparation of titanium carbide
Microwave method:
Take nano-TiO2 and carbon black as raw materials.
Use the carbothermal reduction reaction principle.
Use microwave energy to heat the material.
It uses the dielectric loss of the material in the high-frequency electric field to convert the microwave energy into heat energy so that nano-TiO2 and carbon can be synthesized into TiC.
Explosive impact method: mix titanium dioxide powder and carbon powder in a certain proportion and press them into Φ 10mm × The precursor was prepared with a 5mm cylinder, with a density of 1.5g/cm3, and was put into a metal-confined outer cylinder in the laboratory. The experiment was carried out in a self-made closed explosion container. The detonation ash was collected after the impact of the blast wave. After preliminary screening, large impurities such as iron chips were removed, and black powder was obtained. The black powder turned brown after soaking in aqua regia for 24h, and finally put into a muffle furnace, calcined at 400 ℃ for 400min, and finally, the silver-gray powder was obtained.

Use of titanium carbide
Nano-titanium carbide powder is used as raw material for powder metallurgy production of ceramics and cemented carbide parts, such as wire drawing dies, cemented carbide dies, etc. Nano-titanium carbide-based cemented carbide has the following characteristics:
1. High hardness, generally up to HRA90
2. Good wear resistance and low wear rate
3. Good high-temperature resistance and oxidation resistance
5. Good thermal conductivity and chemical stability.

Price of titanium carbide
Titanium carbide particle size and purity will affect the product's price, and the purchase volume can also affect the cost of titanium carbide. A large amount of large amount will be lower. The price of titanium carbide can be found on our company's official website.
