What is chromium carbide?
Chromium carbide grey powder, rhombic system, a=2.821, b=5.52, c=11.46. The melting point is 1890 , and the boiling point is 3800 . The micro Vickers hardness (load 50g) is 2700kg/rnrn2, and the thermal expansion coefficient is 10.3 × 10-6/K. Chromium carbide (II) is a ceramic compound in various chemical compositions: Cr3C2, Cr7C3 and Cr23C6. Under standard conditions, it exists as a grey solid. It is very hard and corrosion-resistant. It is also a fire-resistant compound, which means it can maintain its strength at high temperatures. These characteristics make it useful as an additive for metal alloys. When the chromium carbide crystal is bonded to the metal surface, it will improve the wear and corrosion resistance of the metal and maintain these characteristics at high temperatures. For this purpose, the common composition of Z hard and Z is Cr3C2.
Use of chromium carbide
1. It is a high melting point material with good wear, corrosion, and oxidation resistance under high-temperature environments. The cemented carbide particles made with nickel-chromium alloy can be used as a coating with high temperature, wear, oxidation, and acid resistance by plasma spraying. It is widely used in aircraft engines and petrochemical machinery components, which can greatly improve the service life of machinery. It is also commonly used as a grain refiner of cemented carbide and other wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant components. Cr3C2-based cermet has excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures
2. It is used for chromium carbide ceramics. As a melt-blown material, coarse chromium carbide forms a melt-blown coating on the surface of metals and ceramics, giving the latter wear resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance and other properties. It is widely used in aircraft engines and petrochemical mechanical devices to greatly improve mechanical life. It is also used for spraying semiconductor films.

Production method of chromium carbide
Carbonization method of metal chromium powder: 325 mesh metal chromium powder is made by crushing carbon black with 13.5%~64% of (mass) (more than 11.33% of theoretical combined carbon) and electrolytic chromium, and then it is used as raw material after dry mixing with a ball mill. 1%~3% stearic acid is added as the lubricant for moulding. Pressure moulding is carried out with more than 1 T/cm2. The pressurized moulding powder is put into a graphite disk or crucible and used in a Taman furnace or an induction heating furnace. In the hydrogen gas flow (the dew point of hydrogen is about - 35 ), heat it to 1500~1700 and keep it for one h to carbonize chromium, generate chromium carbide, and then cool it to produce chromium carbide.

Price of chromium carbide
Chromium carbide particle size and purity will affect the product's Price, and the purchase volume can also affect the cost of chromium carbide. A large amount of large amount will be lower. The Price of chromium carbide can be found on our company's official website.
