Experimental Study on Axial Tensile Performance of Polypropylene Fiber Reinforced Concrete: Excellent Contribution of PP Fiber

As the fiber content increases, the tensile strength of concrete first increases and then decreases. The influence of polypropylene fiber content and curing age on the tensile properties of concrete was studied, and the optimal polypropylene fiber content was determined. When the fiber content is 0.9 kg/m3, the tensile strength of concrete attains its maximum value. Simultaneously, split tensile tests on concrete were conducted under the same conditions. The damage phenomenon and checkout results of the concrete axial tensile and splitting tensile tests were compared and analyzed, and the applicability of the newly developed device in the concrete axial tensile test was verified.

 

PP fiber, or polypropylene fiber, is a synthetic fiber made from polypropylene. Polypropylene is a non-polar polymer with excellent electrical insulation performance and chemical corrosion resistance.

8. Good heat resistance: Polypropylene has good heat resistance and can be used above 100 ℃, which is especially suitable for preparing medical high-pressure disinfection products.
9. Strong chemical corrosion resistance: It is insoluble in any solvent at room temperature but can swell in certain solvents. Can withstand corrosion from acids, bases, salts, and most organic solvents (such as alcohols, phenols, aldehydes, ketones, and most carboxylic acids) except for strong oxidants, concentrated sulfuric acid, and concentrated nitric acid.
