Description

Overview of Polypropylene Fiber PP Fiber Concrete:
Chemical properties: The chemical properties of PP fiber are stable, insoluble in water and general organic solvents, and have good acid, alkali, and corrosion resistance. However, it is less resistant to solid oxidants and high temperatures.

Physical properties: PP fiber has excellent physical properties, such as high strength, modulus, low density, wear resistance, fatigue resistance, etc. In addition, its thermal insulation and UV resistance are also excellent.

Mechanical properties: PP fiber has excellent mechanical properties. Its tensile strength and modulus are higher than polyethylene fiber and polyester fiber. In addition, its wear resistance and impact resistance are also good.

Electrical properties: PP fiber has good electrical insulation properties, and its volume resistivity and dielectric constant are higher than polyethylene fiber and polyester fiber.

Thermal properties:

  • The thermal properties of PP fiber are poor.
  • The coefficient of thermal expansion is significant.

Optical properties: PP fiber has excellent optical properties, high transparency, a sizeable refractive index and good gloss.

Weather resistance: The weather resistance of PP fiber is poor, and long-term exposure to air will reduce its performance.

Industrial field: PP fiber is widely used in the industrial area because of its high strength, high modulus and wear resistance. It can be used to make various industrial parts, such as conveyor belts, transmission belts, sealing materials, etc. In addition, PP fiber can also be used to make industrial filter materials, insulation materials, building materials and so on.

Automotive field: PP fiber is widely used in the automotive field because of its heat resistance, corrosion resistance and lightweight properties. It can be used to make structural, interior, and seat materials for automobiles. In addition, PP fiber can also be used to make automotive textiles and accessories, such as seat covers, seat belts and so on.

Medical field: PP fiber is widely used in the medical field because of its non-toxic, non-irritating and corrosion resistance. It can be used to make medical supplies, such as surgical gowns, gloves, protective clothing, etc. In addition, PP fibers can also be used to make parts of medical devices, such as infusion sets, blood collection sets, etc.

Construction field: PP fiber is widely used in the construction field because of its heat resistance, corrosion resistance and lightweight properties. It can be used to make building exterior wall materials, insulation materials, waterproof materials, etc. In addition, PP fiber can also be used to make construction textiles and accessories, such as curtains, window screens and so on.

Production Method of Polypropylene Fiber PP Fiber Concrete:
Melt spinning method: Melt spinning method is one of the most commonly used production methods of PP fiber. The technique is to melt polypropylene resin at high temperatures and then spray it into silk through a spinning machine. The advantages of this method are high production efficiency, low cost and good fiber properties. The disadvantage of melt spinning is that it can only produce homopolymers, not copolymers and terpolymers.

Solution spinning method: The solution spinning method is to dissolve polypropylene resin in the appropriate solvent and then spray through the spinneret hole into silk. The advantage of this method is that various fiber shapes and properties can be produced, such as high strength, high modulus, antistatic and so on. In addition, solution spinning can also have fibers with special functions, such as waterproof, antibacterial, anti-UV, etc. The disadvantages of solution spinning are complex production processes, high cost and volatile solvents.

Reactive spinning: Reactive spinning is a relatively new PP fiber production method. The method is to dissolve the polypropylene resin in the appropriate solvent and then conduct the polymerization reaction in the reactor while spinning. The advantage of reactive spinning is that it can produce fibers with higher properties, such as increased strength, high modulus, antistatic, etc. In addition, reactive spinning can also have threads with special functions, such as waterproof, antibacterial, anti-ultraviolet and so on. The disadvantages of reactive spinning are complex production processes, high cost and volatile solvents.

Package of PP Fiber:

Packaging: Packed in woven bags lined with plastic film, each bag has a net weight of 20 kg. If special specification packaging is needed, it can be customized in advance.

Storage: should be stored in a cool and ventilated warehouse; pay attention to moisture.

FAQs of PP Fiber:

Q: What is PP fiber?
A:Polypropylene fiber is a synthetic fiber spun from isotactic polypropylene obtained by polymerization of propylene. The density of polypropylene fiber is 0.90-0.92 g/cm3, which is the lightest among all chemical fibers. It is 20% lighter than nylon, 30% lighter than polyester and 40% lighter than viscose fiber. Therefore, it is very suitable for filling of winter clothing or fabrics of ski suits, mountaineering clothes, etc.

Q: Is PP material safe?
A: Polypropylene fiber is a specially treated polypropylene monofilament, a highly bundled monofilament fiber made of polypropylene as the main raw material and with a unique production process. It is a harmless and safe material that meets the clean and environmental requirements of high-tech materials in today's society.

Q:What is the raw material of polypropylene fiber?
A: PP Fibre is made of polypropylene as raw material by special technology.
