What is cuprous oxide?
Cuprous oxide ,it disproportionates into bivalent copper and copper in an acidic solution and gradually oxidizes into black copper oxide in wet air. Cuprous oxide is an oxide of univalent copper, a bright red powdery solid that is almost insoluble in water and disproportionates into bivalent copper and copper in an acidic solution; it is gradually oxidized into black copper oxide in wet air. Cuprous oxide is mainly used to manufacture antifouling paint on the bottom of ships, pesticides, various copper salts, analytical reagents, red glass, and the preparation of copper plating and copper alloy solution.
Color of cuprous oxide
Cuprous oxide is a brownish-red or dark-red powder. Due to different preparation conditions, its crystal size varies, including yellow, orange, red, and other colors. Its density is 6.00g/cm3, its melting point is 1235 degrees Celsius, and oxygen is lost at 1800 degrees Celsius. It is insoluble in water and alcohol but soluble in ammonia and ammonium chloride and reacts with concentrated hydrochloric acid to form white cuprous chloride crystalline powder. Cuprous oxide can be dissolved in concentrated ammonia to form a colorless solution and rapidly turns blue due to further oxidation by air; it is also soluble in concentrated alkali, ferric oxide, and other solutions. Cuprous oxide is stable in dry air and gradually oxidizes into black copper oxide in wet air. It is stable in dry air and slowly oxidizes in wet air to form black copper oxide, which is toxic.

Knowledge expansion of cuprous oxide
Cuprous oxide is highly toxic. When the content of cuprous oxide powder dust in the air reaches 0.22~14mg/m3, it will cause acute poisoning after working for 1~2h, which is manifested as headache, weakness, redness of the throat, and conjunctiva, nausea, muscle pain, sometimes vomiting and diarrhea, fatigue, and temperature rise. After a day, the body temperature can return to normal, but still weak, with headache, dizziness, accelerated pulse number, and increased lymphocytes. The chronic poisoning of cuprous oxide is manifested as the local skin of workers exposed to copper compounds; hair and conjunctiva sometimes turn pale yellow or dark green, and there are dark red or crimson edges on the gums. It is irritating to the skin, dust irritates the eyes, and causes corneal ulcers. For acute poisoning, use a certain K4 [Fe (CN) 6] solution to wash the stomach, take the milk, and other measures. The maximum allowable concentration in the air is 0.1mg/m3. You can wear a mask, dustproof glasses, protective work clothes, and shower after work.

Price of cuprous oxide
Cuprous oxide particle size and purity will affect the product's price, and the purchase volume can also affect the cost of cuprous oxide. A large amount of large amount will be lower. The price of cuprous oxide can be found on our company's official website.
