What is Self-leveling gypsum?
Self-leveling gypsum is short for self-leveling floor leveling gypsum, also known as gypsum-based self-leveling mortar, is made of gypsum materials, special aggregates, and a variety of construction chemical additives in the factory preparation, mixing homogeneous and become a kind of dry powder mortar specially used for floor leveling. The 1960s originated in Europe, the 1980s, our country began to develop gypsum-based self-leveling mortar.

Advantages of gypsum-based self-leveling mortar
The main cementing material of gypsum-based self-leveling mortar is gypsum, and it has the performance of automatic leveling, which has the following advantages:
(1) The ground constructed with gypsum-based self-leveling mortar has accurate size, high level, no hollow drum, no crack; it is easy and convenient to work with high efficiency; and it can be constructed by pumping, and the ground can be paved up to 800~1000m2 per day, which is 5~10 times faster than the construction of traditional ground materials.
(2) Used as "floor heating" leveling covering layer, with good heat preservation performance (compared with other heating methods, the energy-saving rate is about 20%, and the energy-saving rate can be as high as 40% if zone temperature control device is used); it will not be like the cement mortar layer that produces cracking and bulging due to thermal expansion and contraction.
(3) The hardened floor of gypsum-based self-leveling mortar has a certain degree of elasticity, a warm and comfortable feeling, and a certain sound insulation effect.
(4) When gypsum-based self-leveling mortar and cement mortar are used for leveling the floor of a building, the final cost of the two, including labor and materials, is similar. Suppose gypsum-based self-leveling mortar is used to replace cement mortar. In that case, the proportion of cement used in the whole cement production is very small, less than 1%, which will not affect cement manufacturers' interests.
(5) Longer service time of the base surface
In the process of use, the use of self-leveling supporting the installation, it is easy to meet the requirements of the floor installation, which can provide a solid base, a base life of at least 50 years or more to provide the leveling accuracy of the ground so that the floor paving and installation of the joints in the same plane, thereby protecting the surface material above, but also to extend the service life of the floor material.
(6) Better visual effect
The leveling effect of self-leveling is very obvious, which makes the floor paved on top of self-leveling more beautiful, and the flat base surface ensures that the floor can reach an effect similar to that of a mirror and obtain perfect visual enjoyment. The construction steps of gypsum self-leveling are as follows:
1. Thoroughly check the grass-roots surface for sanding, hollowing, skinning, and cracking. Vacuum the grass-roots level with a professional vacuum cleaner. If there are cracks on the floor, special materials should be used to grout, level, and seal the repair to ensure the floor's integrity.
2. According to the requirements of the instructions for the interface agent, use the roller to apply the interface agent to the ground; the brush should be uniform, there shall be no omissions, and no local accumulation of liquid shall be formed.
3. Stir to make slurry. According to the material requirements, add the whole package of self-leveling material to the electric mixer and mix well for 3~5 minutes. Form the consistency of uniform, non-clumping fluid slurry.
4. Slurry pouring. Mix the fluid self-leveling material pouring side to the base surface in the constructible time so that the well-mixed fluid self-leveling material leveling. If the self-leveling construction thickness design ≤ 10mm, you need to use a special self-leveling scraper for scraping.
5. Finish the surface. After paving, spread the slurry with a tooth scraper to control its thickness, set it for 3~5min to make the air bubbles, and then use a defoaming roller to discharge the air bubbles. After the whole piece of ground is completely hardened, construct the surface layer and paving.
