What is Lithium stearate?
Lithium stearate is a white powder or colourless crystal. Density: 1.025 g/cm3. Melting point: 220.0-221.5. Stable at normal temperature and pressure. Slightly soluble in water and ethanol, the water solubility is 0.09 g/100ml, and the ethanol solubility is 0.04 g/100ml. In the case of strong acid, it decomposes into stearic acid and a corresponding lithium salt. Insoluble in ethyl acetate and mineral oil. Form colloid in mineral oil.
Storage conditions: dark, ventilated and dry place, sealed storage stability, stability under normal temperature and pressure. Insoluble in water, ethanol and ethyl acetate. Form colloid in mineral oil. Water solubility Water solubility: practically insoluble; Water solubility: 0.1 g/l 25 °C
Applications of Lithium stearate
Lithium stearate can be used as PVC heat stabilizer for transparent products, when used with phthalate plasticizer, the film transparency of the product is good, does not have white fog.  Lithium stearate melts more easily in ketones than other stearates and thus has less impact on embossing operations. 
Non-toxic, barium soap, lead soap substitutes. This product can also be used with a phospholipid acid plasticizer. The product can also be used as an external lubricant for nylon, phenolic resin, and rigid polyvinyl chloride (maximum dosage of 0.6%).  In addition, the commodity can also be used for building waterproof, impermeable, and so on. Synthesis method of lithium stearate
Method 1: Dissolve 10g stearic acid in 100ml of 95% ethanol, titrate with 0.5mol/L lithium hydroxide ethanol solution (if lithium hydroxide can't be completely dissolved in ethanol, add water to make it completely dissolved), using phenolphthalein as indicator, and filter out the precipitated lithium stearate soap after the reaction reaches the equivalent point. The crude product can be recrystallized with 95% ethanol to obtain the pure product.
Method 2: Dissolve sodium hydroxide in water to form a solution, add stearic acid to it, and then fully react and heat to above 100. Dissolving lithium chloride in water, cooling it to normal temperature, and adding it into the prepared sodium stearate solution for reaction; Discharging after the reaction is finished and dehydrating by a centrifuge; Drying by air-flow drying equipment to obtain the finished product.
