What is zinc stearate?
Zinc stearate is a white fine powder with a melting point of 118-125 and a relative density of 1.095. It feels smooth, has no sand feeling, has a fat smell, is easy to absorb moisture, is non-toxic, greasy, flammable, insoluble in water, and soluble in hot ethanol, benzene, toluene, turpentine, and other organic solvents. It decomposes into stearic acid and corresponding zinc salt when meeting strong acid, is heated and dissolved in an organic solvent, and then cooled to form a colloidal substance. It has fire hazards under dry conditions, and its self-ignition point is 900 , Can be used for products in contact with food.
Use of zinc stearate
Because zinc stearate is soluble in alcohol but insoluble in water, it is widely used in many commercial products, including the plastic industry and concrete production. When using zinc stearate to make plastics, it helps stabilize plastics together with a stable soap called Ba-Cd. It works by mixing a liquid called a plasticizer. This property of zinc stearate also makes it widely used in the production of cosmetics. In addition, it is also used in the paint industry, As a matting agent and polishing agent for paint coatings, zinc stearate plays the role of waterproof additive in the production of concrete. In short, zinc stearate has a wide range of uses, including asbestos, textile, and paper-making. Even in the form of powder, it can also be used as a dry lubricant or powder spray agent for rubber products.

Preparation of zinc stearate
1. Put 800-1200 parts of stearic acid and 140-170 parts of zinc oxide into the reactor, raise the temperature to 57-65 , start stirring, stir for 8-15 min, add 5-15 parts of catalyst and 50-70 parts of deionized water, cover the reactor cover, and continue heating up for reaction
2. The reaction starts when the temperature in the reactor rises to 75-80 and stops when the temperature continues to rise to 93-98 to keep the temperature stable. After a reaction for 18-25 min and the pressure in the reactor rises to 2-2.5 kg · f/cm2, open the exhaust valve of the reactor to exhaust
3. After the exhaust is completed, open the kettle cover. At this time, the reaction material changes from liquid to powder solid, and the reaction is completed
4. The reaction material is discharged from the reactor and the product is obtained through the crushing process. The catalyst includes acetic acid, hydrogen peroxide, potassium hydroxide solution, and ammonia.

Price of zinc stearate
Zinc stearate particle size and purity will affect the product's price, and the purchase volume can also affect the cost of zinc stearate. A large amount of large amount will be lower. The price of zinc stearate can be found on our company's official website.
