What is tantalum carbide?
Tantalum carbide is a black or dark brown metallic powder, cubic crystal system, hard, with a relative density of 13.9, a melting point of 3880 , and a boiling point of 5500 . It contains a mixture of 75% tantalum carbide and 25% hafnium carbide, with a melting point of more than 4200 . Its chemical properties are extremely stable. It is insoluble in water, slightly soluble in sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid and soluble in the mixed solution of hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid. Tantalum pentachloride and methane are used as the reaction gas, argon is used as the carrier, and silicon carbide resistance is used to radiate and heat from the outside; Tantalum carbide or tantalum pentoxide is mixed with carbon black, formed by pressure powder, and heated in hydrogen or vacuum. It is used to manufacture cutting tools. Tantalum carbide (TaC) is a member of the ultra-high temperature ceramic family, with a high melting point (3880 ), high hardness (20 GPa), high elastic modulus (450 GPa), good electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity (25 , 42.1 μ Ω · cm-1,22W · m-1 · K-1). It has excellent physical and chemical properties, such as chemical corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, good thermal shock resistance, etc. The densification and molding method of TaC is mainly powder sintering, and the powder's quality directly determines the material's performance.
Use of tantalum carbide
A tantalum carbide-coated carbon material with good corrosion and thermal shock resistance for reducing gases at high temperatures is prepared. According to the present invention, a tantalum carbide-coated carbon material is provided, which contains a carbon substrate and a film formed directly or through the intermediate layer on the carbon substrate. The film is formed by the dense aggregation of many microcrystals of tantalum carbide, preferably in the X-ray diffraction pattern of the film; the diffraction intensity of (220) plane based on tantalum carbide shows the maximum intensity, more preferably, the above diffraction intensity shows 4 times or more than 4 times of the second highest intensity diffraction intensity.

Preparation of tantalum carbide
LPI is impregnating and curing the embryo with welded Ta precursor as the impregnating agent and converting the Ta-containing precursor into TaC through heat treatment. The ground Ta2O5 is used as the raw material powder, and the ultrasonic vibration method is used to make it uniformly distributed in the resin. The C/C material with a certain density (about 0.5g/cm3) is impregnated, and the C/C composite with different TaC content (density up to 1.90g/cm3) is prepared through curing, carbonization, high-temperature heat treatment, and other processes.

Price of tantalum carbide
Tantalum carbide particle size and purity will affect the product's Price, and the purchase volume can also affect the cost of tantalum carbide. A large amount of large amount will be lower. The Price of tantalum carbide can be found on our company's official website.
