What is chromium carbide?
Chromium carbide is a gray powder, rhombic crystal system, mouth=2.821, b=5.52, c=11.46, relative density 6.68. Melting point 1890 , boiling point 3800 , micro Vickers hardness (load 50 g) 2700 kj/rnm2, thermal expansion coefficient 10.3 × 10-6/K. Chromium carbide (Cr3 island) has a low melting point of 1710. C. The main characteristic is chromium carbide's high room temperature and thermal hardness. It has good wettability with Co, Ni, and other metals. It has the highest oxidation resistance in metal-type carbides. It has to be subjected to severe oxidation at 1100 ~140012 in the air. It has excellent corrosion resistance. It is a high-temperature oxidation resistance, friction wear, and gas erosion resistance material with excellent comprehensive performance. It is mainly used in the high-temperature coating. However, the directly sprayed chromium carbide coating has poor adhesion, so it is mainly used as the raw material for preparing NiCr-Cr3 island composite powder.
Properties of chromium carbide
In particular, chromium carbide has many excellent properties, such as strong chemical stability, high room temperature, and thermal hardness, good acid and alkali corrosion resistance, good wear resistance, high melting point, and good wettability with other metals. Among metal carbides, the oxidation resistance is the highest, and the oxidation temperature is as high. When chromium carbide is used as an inhibitor, it can effectively control the growth of cemented carbide grain.

Preparation of chromium carbide
In 2004, patent CN1724349A proposed a method for preparing nano-Cr3C2: dissolve Cr2O3 in organic solution with a solubility of 10% - 20% and then use a centrifugal spray dryer for spray drying to obtain a porous precursor powder containing chromium and free organic matter. Put the precursor powder into an argon protective atmosphere and bake it at about 550 'C, and the precursor powder will be decomposed into a mixture of Cr2O3 and free carbon; then at 900-1000C, add CH/H mixed gas and carbonize for 60-90 minutes to obtain a particle size of 0.1 μ m. Cr3C2 powder with a grain size of 20-60 nm. This method has the advantages of lower carbonization temperature and shorter carbonization time. Still, the process is more complex, and the cost is higher when mixed gas is used for carbonization.

Price of chromium carbide
Chromium carbide particle size and purity will affect the product's price, and the purchase volume can also affect the cost of chromium carbide. A large amount of large amount will be lower. The price of chromium carbide can be found on our company's official website.
