What is concrete release agent?
Concrete release agent is also known as concrete isolating agent or release lubricant.
Concrete release agent is a kind of material which is applied to the inner wall of the formwork to lubricate and isolate the concrete, so that the concrete can be successfully separated from the formwork and keep the shape of the concrete intact.
Concrete release agent refers to a substance applied on the construction formwork before concrete pouring, so that the formwork will not stick to the concrete surface, it is not easy to remove the mold, or affect the finish of the concrete surface.
Its main function is to form a film between the formwork and the concrete surface to separate them, so it is also called isolating agent.

Types of concrete release agents
The types of concrete release agents are divided according to the usage method: internal release agent and external release agent.
The types of concrete release agents are divided by life: conventional release agents, semi-permanent release agents.
According to the form: solvent release agent, water release agent, solvent-free release agent, powder release agent, paste release agent.
According to use: die casting release agent, rubber release agent, glass release agent, concrete release agent.
 
Application method of concrete release agent
1. This product is used with water according to the ratio of 1:3 to 1:5.
2. Clean up the template before brushing.
3. Stir the product evenly and spray it on the template with a spray gun or brush.

2. It is helpful to improve the appearance quality of concrete, show the "true color" of concrete, and achieve the effect of "fair-faced concrete".
The molded concrete is in the shape of imitation marble, smooth, consistent in color, delicate in feel, shiny and pollution-free, which makes the appearance quality of concrete products superior, so it is the preferred material for creating high-quality projects.
3. The surface finish of the paint film is good, and the enamel is naturally formed, which is easy to take off and clean, and the work efficiency is improved.
4. Wear-resistant, good adhesion and can be reused many times.
5. It has a wide range of applications, such as steel mold, wood mold, bamboo mold and so on.
6. The construction is simple, just apply one brush.

Basic requirements of concrete release agent 
The purpose of applying the release agent on the inner surface of the concrete formwork is to reduce the bonding force between the concrete and the formwork, so that it will not be damaged during demoulding due to the low initial strength of the concrete, keep the concrete surface smooth, and at the same time protect the formwork, prevent its deformation or corrosion, facilitate cleaning and reduce the cost of repair. for this reason, the release agent must meet the following requirements:
1. Good demoulding performance.
When removing the mold, the demoulding agent is required to make the formwork break away from the concrete smoothly and keep the concrete surface smooth, neat and intact.
2.The utility model has the advantages of convenient coating, quick mold forming and easy cleaning after mold removal.
The mold release agent can be brushed and sprayed as well, and the mold should be removed quickly (usually within 20 minutes).
It is easy to remove after the mold, so that the construction progress and product productivity will not be affected.
3. Does not affect the effect of concrete surface decoration, concrete surface does not leave impregnation marks, anti-yellow discoloration.
4. Does not pollute the steel bar and is harmless to the concrete.
It does not affect the holding force of concrete and steel bar, does not change the setting time of concrete mixture, and should not contain substances harmful to the performance of concrete.
5. Protect and prolong the service life of the template.
The release agent for wood mold should be able to infiltrate into the surface of wood mold, maintain and fill seams on the template, and prevent expansion, bulging, cracking and defects due to the variation of wood quality and edges after repeated use.
The release agent for steel mold should prevent the corrosion of steel mold and lead to rust spots on the surface of concrete.
6. Has good stability.
Concrete release agent should have good stability and long storage life.
7. Concrete release agents has good water resistance and weather resistance.
The release agent used in the on-site construction and open-air precast yard should have a certain resistance to Rain Water erosion, that is, the release agent brushed on the formwork should be able to maintain the release performance after being drenched in the rain, and the release agent used in the heat-cured concrete members should have heat resistance; the release agent used in cold climate conditions should have frost resistance.
