Inconel 718 is an age hardening alloy chromium alloy, which has corrosion resistance, high strength and good workability. It has high creep rupture strength at temperatures up to 700 ℃. Its excellent anti relaxation property is helpful to its application in springs. Inconel 718 plates, plates and coils are usually made of molybdenum chromium nickel alloys, which are designed and developed to withstand a wide range of corrosive environments.
It even shows resistance in crevice and pitting corrosion environments. This nickel base steel alloy exhibits excellent creep fracture and high tensile and yield properties at high temperatures. Under low temperature conditions, the product can be used for a long time in the temperature range up to 1200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Application of Inconel 718
The alloy is used for jet engines and high-speed airframe components, such as wheels, buckets and gaskets, as well as high-temperature bolts and fasteners. Inconel 718 is also used in oil and gas drilling and production industries due to its high strength and resistance to chloride, stress corrosion and sulfide stress cracking. In these industries, the alloy has been used for valves, pump shafts, and wellhead components. The addition of molybdenum and niobium hardens the alloy, thus providing high strength without heat treatment.
