What is Titanium Carbide? 
Titanium carbide, the chemical formula TiC, is a gray crystal of steel with a metallic luster. TiC has thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity, and its electrical conductivity decreases with the increase in temperature, so it shows metallic properties. It is a very hard compound with a high melting point, and its hardness is second only to diamond with a microhardness of 2850 kg/mm2. It belongs to the NaCl-type square system, which has the same lattice and parameters as TiN and TiO.Series of continuous solid solutions can be maded between them. TiC is insoluble in hydrochloric acid and lye, soluble in nitric acid and aqua regia. TiC has a wide range of applications. 3. Preparation of foam Ceramics by Titanium Carbide.

4. Application in infrared radiation ceramic materials.
Titanium carbide is intermetallic compound, which usually shows good chemical stability and does not change in valence state, but this system is a sample prepared under the condition of high-temperature reduction; some titanium ions have the phenomenon of valence change, and the titanium ions with variable valence are solid melted into the structural position occupied by cordierite structure. This structural change makes the radiation properties of the materials obviously improve compared with the emissivity near 3tma alone. It is beneficial to the application in the field of high temperature.
