What is Lanthanum oxide?
Lanthanum oxide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula La2O3, which is a white powder. Soluble in acid, ethanol, and ammonium chloride, insoluble in water, and ketone. Rare earth lanthanum oxide is widely used, especially in glass, ceramics, electronics, and other fields. Mainly used to manufacture precision optical glass and optical fiber. La2O3 has hygroscopic properties. In the atmosphere, over time it absorbs water and turns into lanthanum hydroxide.

Slightly soluble in water, easily soluble in acid to generate corresponding salts. It is exposed to the air and easily absorbs carbon dioxide and water, and gradually becomes lanthanum carbonate. Burning lanthanum oxide combines with water to release a lot of heat.
uses of Lanthanum oxide
Mainly used for manufacturing precision optical glass and optical fiber. It is also used as a ceramic capacitor and piezoelectric ceramic dopant in the electronic industry. It is also used as a raw material for preparing lanthanum boride and a catalyst for petroleum separation and refining.
Application: It is mainly used to make special alloy precision optical glass and high refractive optical fiberboard and is suitable for cameras, cameras, microscope lenses, and advanced optical instrument prisms.
It is also used to manufacture ceramic capacitors, piezoelectric ceramic dopants, and X-ray luminescent materials such as lanthanum bromide powder. It is extracted from lanthanum phosphate ore or obtained by burning lanthanum carbonate or lanthanum nitrate.
It can also be prepared by the thermal decomposition of lanthanum oxalate. It is used as a catalyst for many reactions, such as the oxidation of carbon monoxide when cadmium oxide is doped and the hydrogenation of carbon monoxide to methane when palladium is doped. Lanthanum oxide impregnated with lithium oxide, or zirconium oxide (1%) can be used to manufacture ferrite magnets. It is a very effective selective catalyst for the oxidative coupling of methane to ethane and ethylene.
It is used to improve the temperature dependence and dielectric properties of barium titanate (BaTiO3) and strontium titanate (SrTiO3) ferroelectrics and to manufacture fiber optic devices and optical glass.
Price of Lanthanum oxide
Lanthanum oxide particle size and purity will affect the product's price, and the purchase volume can also affect the cost of Lanthanum oxide. A large amount of large amount will be lower. The price of Lanthanum oxide can be found on our company's official website.
