How is Holmium Oxide Ho2O3 Powder Produced?
The typical holmium oxide extraction process can be simplified as crushing and grinding the mineral mixture. Monazite can be separated by repeated electromagnetic separation because of its magnetic properties.
The most effective method for separating holmium oxide from rare earth is ion exchange. In this process, rare-earth ions are adsorbed to a suitable ion exchange resin by exchanging hydrogen ions, ammonium ions or copper ions present in the resin. The rare-earth ions are then selectively washed out with a suitable complexing agent, such as ammonium citrate or nitrogen triacetate.
